“Police did not arrest me with illegal firearms” – Kelvin Ekuere debunk reports

A Suspect who was allegedly arrested for the alleged attempted kidnapping of Chief Patrick Ekubo at Akenfa 3 community in Yenagoa has debunked reports of his involvement in the alleged allegations

Speaking with NAIJA LIVE TV, the alleged Suspect Mr Kelvin Ekuere, a former Youth President of Koluama Community said he was never arrested with any illegal firearms as claimed by the Police.

Mr. Kelvin also debunked that he was not involved in any alleged attempted kidnapping of Chief Patrick Ekubo at Akenfa 3 community in Yenagoa. Saying that Patrick and Tibiebi had a little misunderstanding sometimes ago over a minor issue which both of them later settled at the Akenfa Police Station.

Speaking further, Kelvin said that the police arrested for conspiracy but later released him on Bail after finding out that he was innocent from the alleged conspiracy allegation.

“Police Did not arrested me with any illegal firearms and am not also involved in any attempted kidnapping of Chief Patrick Ekubo at Akenfa 3 community”

“To put the record straight; I was present when Patrick and Tibiebi had a little misunderstanding sometimes ago over a minor issue which both of them later settled at the Akenfa Police Station”

“I even record them while they were arguing over the minor issue”

“I was arrested for conspiracy and not charged even. The police only took me to court a day after I was arrested and asked the court to remand me for 15days while they carry out their investigation but I was later released on bail” Mr. Kelvin Stated;

MEANWHILE, Authorities of the Bayelsa State Police Command claimed that Kelvin Ekuere, 35years, from Koluama community in Southern Ijaw Local Government area of Bayelsa State was arraigned over allege illegal possession of fire Arms.

​ According to the Police, through its spokesman, SP Asinim Butswat, said Kelvin Ekuere was arrested over allege illegal possession of firearms and has been charged to court”

The suspect who claimed to be working with one Tibiebi Woinemi Amadein, who is nephew, Chief Security Officer to the Senator representing Bayelsa Central Senator district of the State, Senator Cleopas Moses and the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

Police sources however said though Kelvin Ekuere was arrested for allege illegal possession of fire arms, he and his allege boss, Tibiebi Woinnemi Amadein are being investigated for allege involvement in a porputed kidnapping attempt of Chief Patrick Ekubo at Akenfa 3 community in Yenagoa, the state capital.
