Diri visit Jonathan after been sworn-in

The newly sworn in governor of Bayelsa Douye DIri has paid a courtesy visit to former president Goodluck Jonathan and presented his certificate to him

This is a radical departure from his previous stance after he was imposed on the party by former governor Seriake Dickson. This made the party work against him at the last election and contributed to his grand defeat at the polls.

The former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, had earlier he trusts Diri’s ability to deliver having worked with him at some point.

He was quoted as saying; “you have worked with me before as a commissioner, so I am without doubt that you will live up to the expectations of our people.

Jonathan further said; “As a Governor, the responsibility of building hope and sustaining peace across the state now lies on your shoulders.
