… Says Executive, Legislative Synergy Under Him Excellent
The Member representing Brass Constituency Two, in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon Timi Agala-Omubo, has said the audacity by Governor Douye Diri to embark on the Nembe-Brass road, is a milestone that cannot be erased, owing to decades of neglect.
Hon Agala-Omubo, said the legacy project which has a direct impact on his constituents, when completed, will end the hazards of traveling by river from Yenagoa, and Nembe to Twon-Brass, looking at the activities of sea pirates and boat mishaps that occasionally occur on the waterways.
The Lawmaker said this while speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa, on the six years anniversary of Governor Diri and the positive impact of the ASSURED Prosperity Agenda on the lives of the people.
He noted that the governor’s investment in security has reduced such incidents, but with the Nembe-Brass road coming on stream, insecurity would be drastically addressed for travelers.
On the economic impact of the project, Hon Agala-Omubo, stressed that the Brass Island and Brass Local Government in general is rich in crude oil just as movement of goods and services will become easy for the people and by extension, imprtheir livelihoods.
The two-time Lawmaker, also noted that just like the Nembe-Brass road, similar projects have been replicated in other senatorial districts, an indication that Governor Diri will, at the end of his second term, open up the state to the rich economic potentials deposited in the Atlantic Ocean, in Brass, Southern Ijaw and Ekeremor Local Government Areas.
He emphasized that Governor Diri by every standard, has proven himself as a leader with a difference, through gigantic infrastructural development scattered across the length and breath of the state and prayed that the same drive that made him approve the legacy projects, will see him take them to conclusion.
Speaking on the synergy between the Executive and Legislative arms of government under Governor Diri, Hon Agala-Omubo said he has witnessed the best of cordial working relationship in recent times, especially in the area of executive bills that do have the best interest of Bayelsans at heart, making their job as Lawmakers very easy.
He added that being another arm of government does not imply that the different arms will be antagonistic towards one another, stating that both arms, by implication, should be partners in progress and commended the leadership of both executive and legislative arms of government in the state for placing the interest of the state above personal interests.
