….Says, Sixty years after independence, Nigeria still grappling with basic developmental needs

The truth is that most politicians heading Ministries, Departments, Parastatals and Agencies of government do not really have knowledge on Public Procurement Act/Law.

Instead of being abreast with the relevant laws relating to financial regulations, conracts processes and awards, spending of government money and ethics/code of conducts of a public officer as heads in their MDAs, they are often carried away by the euphoria of their new positions, the greed to amass wealth and ultimately end up by being disgraced out of office on account of corruption and face possible prosecution.

One thing is to aspire to be a politician and a leader and hold public office and another which is most important is to still maintain your name after the public office.

The truth is that Nigeria is still at where we are as a result of conglomerate leadership failure in managing the affairs of our nation state.

It is rather pitiable and more annoying that those who are within the youthful age have also copied this rather bad attitude thereby falling into the pit of leadership failure.

Sixty years after independence, Nigeria is still grappling with basic developmental needs such as water, electricity, basic education, good health care etc. How can we catch up with our counterpart as Malaysia, India etcetera when they have already carved a name for them in areas of technology, medicine, etc?

There is a gloomy future for the youth owing to the fact that our main source of income: oil is a non renewable resource which will be depleted.

Pitifully, the income generated from oil has and is continuously squandered by the politicians and public officers holding positions in trust for the general public.

Inspite of the numerous legislation to curb corruption and ensure public accountability, there is less result as can be seen daily.

OUR YOUTH, OUR FUTURE IS BLEAK ON ACCOUNT OF RECKLESS MANAGEMENT OF OUR COMMON WEALTH BY THE SO CALLED LEADERS.
