Over 5,000 Bayelsans Reported to be Made Jobless, as Gov. Dickson, Agbedi, Diri, Others Plot to Pull Down David Lyon

Ahead of 2019, popular Businessman and philanthropist, Hon. David Lyon, is reported to be ladened with trump up allegations, as both national and state lawmakers of the Bayelsa PDP, alleged to be led by the State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, are said to be secretly plotting to cause a rift between David Lyon and his Client, in a bid to pull him down by terminating his contract with the Italian oil Giant.

David Lyon, a businessman and philanthropist, and owner of Darlon Security services, which employs about 5,000 Bayelsa youths, from all oil producing communities in the state, and consistently embarks on reach out programmes, as part of his company’s policy to alleviate poverty in the region.

According to findings, the Bayelsa PDP led government since 2015, has been at loggerheads with Darlon’s boss, with several petitions written against him to the headquarters of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company in Itali, urging the company to disengage Darlon and re-award the contract to another firm.

In a latest move, was that of the Bayelsa state House of Assembly, who invited Darlon’s boss, on allegations of breeching peace in Southern Ijaw local government area. Shortly after the said announcement, majority of Bayelsans condemned the move, the assembly received wide criticisms from the public, as they were described as stooges.

However, the PDP led government determined in it’s cause, is revealed to have perfected an onslaught against Darlon’s boss, but this time, through it’s members in the National assembly.

Sources reveals that Governor Dickson has concluded plans to summon the company and its clients, the Nigerian Agip Oil Company and its chairman by way of a house resolution with the intent of discrediting Hon. David Lyon and his company before Nigerians.

Those said to be instrumental to achieving this are Hon. Fred Agbedi, representing Bayelsa west federal constituency and Hon. Douye Diri, representing Yelga/Kolga Federal constituency, billed to move a motion during plenary on Tuesday 17th July, 2017, inviting Darlon’s boss on trump up charges.

Hon. Douye Diri, representing Yenagoa / Kolokuma/ Opokuma Federal Constituency is also believed to be the governor’s anointed candidate for the Bayelsa Central Senatorial District Seat comprising Southern Ijaw, Yenagoa and Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State.

The question on the lips of many Bayelsans is; how can a government which claims to love its people so much be leading such an agenda of pulling down a fellow kins man whose company is reportedly catering for over five thousand Bayelsa Youths at a time massive joblessness and rising level of poverty is visibly witness in the state?

How does Governor Dickson, the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Douye Diri and Fred Agbedi expect Bayelsans who are employees of this company to cope, after they are rendered jobless?

This certainly, is being described by many Bayelsans as the height of wickedness of a government against it’s citizens.

A concerned Bayelsan, Momos Ebi, who spoke on the issue, advised Hon. Douye Diri and Fred Agbedi to be reminded that they were elected by their constituents to make laws that would possitively impact on the lives of our people; and not to be used as stooges of the governor in acts that would contribute to the already devastating poverty rate in the state.
