The Bayelsa state government led by Senator Douye Diri has debunked a facebook post suggesting that the Prosperity administration led by Senator Douye Diri has recruited a killer squad to intimidate opposition members in the state.
NAIJA LIVE TV gathered that a Facebook user, ‘Bayelsa Political Journalists’ claimed that the Bayelsa State Government had recruited a killer squad led by a known Ex-militants leader, Gen. Paul Eris, a.k.a Ogunboss, to unleash mayhem on opposition party members in the State
In a statement made available to NAIJA LIVE TV and Signed by the Director, New Media to Bayelsa State Governor, Dr. Kolawole Oredipe described the allegation as unfounded, lies by some charlatans and their sponsors.
Dr. Oredipe claimed that the ‘Bayelsa Political Journalists is a psuedo name on facebook sponsored by some enemies of the State
The statement read;
“Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State is keeping the State safe despite unfounded lies by some charlatans and their sponsors”
“It has come to the attention of the Prosperity administration led by Senator Douye Diri that charlatans hiding under a Facebook psuedo name, Bayelsa Political Journalists, and sponsored by some enemies of the State made series of unfounded claims that the present administration allegedly recruited a killer squad led by Paul Eris, a.k.a Ogunboss, to unleash mayhem on opposition party members in the State.”
“These charlatans, also claimed such “phantom” killer squad, have listed names of opposition members for extermination ahead of the 2023 elections.”
“While the prosperity administration would wish to ignore such unfounded, malicious and wicked claims, it equally wants to assure the peace loving Bayelsans that Gov. Douye Diri, with his God-fearing nature, will never contemplate violence against his people.”
“For a fact, the governor has never been known to associate himself with violence and the allegation of raising any “killer squad” is a wash!”
“It is preposterous to even conceive such an evil thought against a peace-loving governor like Senator Douye Diri.”
“Unlike their paymaster, who might actually be the one behind the evil plot, the present prosperity administration has continued to work with heads of security agencies in the State to stem any security infraction and will not create an ungodly killer squad to terrorize the people inspite of various political inclinations.”
“Paul Eris also known as General Ogunboss, is a peace loving Bayelsan and a member of the Peoples Democratic party. He has, in the last few years,after declaring support for the ruling PDP shown capacity and conducted himself in a peaceful manner.”
“The mention of him being the head of killer squad is insulting and malicious.”
“We truly hope that those behind this allegation have evidence or proof to substantiate their claims at the law court.”
“Bayelsa State, under Governor Douye Diri,is known for promoting peaceful co-existence among the people of the State in spite of political differences.”
Meanwhile the Facebook user claimed that the recent clampdown and arrest of some opposition members in the state was allegedly carried out by the supposed killers squad who make use of the government house security in carrying out the act through the Ex-militant leader, Paul Eris aka Ogunboss.

“The Prosperity Government in Bayelsa State has recruited killers squad led by Paul Eris aka Ogunboss, to unleash mayhem on opposition party members in the State”
“This was carried out with the unknown manner of how some opposition social media influencers were arrested and detained in a manner many thought it was security agencies.”
“The killers squad make use of the government house security in carrying out the shameful act through a known killer in person of Paul Eris aka Ogunboss”
“The way and manner, Ogunboss was recruited to the prosperity government, even when it is obvious that the said Ogunboss was against the prosperity government during and after the 2019 gubernatorial election, which has proven that the government needed a killer to drive home his second term bid”
“The general public and security agencies should know that what is happening in Bayelsa State in the hunt on social media influencers of the opposition party is the handwork of the known killer, Paul Eris aka Ogunboss”
“In the coming days, there will be silent unidentified killings of people of opposition members in the State, and it will be announced to the public as cultists or rivals groups killing themselves”
“There are many opposition members that has been penned down to be brutally killed and assassinated in bid of carrying out an assignment all in the name of the 2023 gubernatorial election”
“Bayelsa was well-known to be one of the most peaceful states in the country in time past, which has become a terrorist zone resulting from assassinations of political leaders in the opposition party in recent times”
“This is not the first administration to witness strong opposition party politics in the state. Previous governments tolerated and managed all sort of political criticism, insults, defamation etc ranging from Late DSP administration down to the immediate past administration”
“Bayelsans wonder why Governor Douye Diri, will be different in terms of dissimilarity in handle issues. No wonder, N10million is allocated to Ogunboss on monthly basis to carry out deadly assignments of the present administration”
