A concern Bayelsan and also a Youth Leader, Hon. Ebi Francis has written another open letter to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri to Immediately Evict the Illegal occupants of the Old Chelsea Hotel located at the Central Area and in Wuse 2, Abuja.

Hon. Ebi Francis who recently commended the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri for the eviction notice given to all the occupants of the Old Chelsea Hotel in Abuja, owned by the State Government said that, the edifice which ought to be the pride of Bayelsa State is being illegally occupied by persons of questionable characters, including kidnappers, thieves, rapists and sundry criminals.

NAIJA LIVE TV gathered that, the Governor had ordered the immediate eviction of the illegal occupants of the state owned property following an appeal from some concerning citizens of the State, raising concerns of criminal activities perpetrated by residence of Old Chelsea Hotel in Abuja

AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY SENATOR DOUYE DIRI, GOVERNOR OF BAYELSA STATE

“I humbly write this open letter to Your Excellency to commend your efforts in trying to effectively and efficiently put to use the multi-billion naira old Chelsea Hotel located at the Central Business District of Abuja. This PROPERTY will be generating regular revenue to Bayelsa State if properly utilised.”

“But as I write to you this open letter, this edifice which ought to be the pride of Bayelsa State is being illegally occupied by persons of questionable characters including kidnappers, thieves, rapists and sundry criminals.”

“The Federal government and the FCT Minister have issued directives on uncompleted buildings and criminal hideouts as a way of fighting the increasing crime rate and insecurity.”

“Your Excellency Sir, I plead with you to as a matter of urgency immediately evict all the illegal residents and squatters of Old Chelsea Hotel and GLORY LAND that STATE will not be seen as keeping a haven for criminals in Abuja.”

“Some of these illegal residents who have used the properties for so many years are boasting that no government can evict them even after collecting money from your government through the office of the Hon. Commissioner for Trade Industry and investment Hon Federal Otokito Oparminola to facilitate their relocation.”

“It is on this note that I am calling on Your Excellency to take appropriate steps to immediately evict all illegal residents and squatters in old Chelsea Hotel and other properties belonging to BAYELSA STATE that the STATE doesn’t loose its prime assets in Abuja to the federal government or allow criminals to continue use them as their hideout.”

“BAYELSA STATE stands to generate millions of naira from these valuable assets being wasted.”
