Gov. Diri Bans Protest, unauthorized gathering in public places in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Government has banned the use of public places and parks without due application and approval.

The state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Iti Orugbani, while giving the directive on Sunday, said the directive became necessary in order to check nefarious activities and illegal acts often perpetrated by unauthorised persons in public spaces and parks.

Dr. Orugbani said the ministry had not given approval to any organisation or group to use Peace Park in Yenegoa as a convergence point for any social, economic or political activity or protest.
