Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has described as “affirmation of the will of God” the ruling of the Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State dismissing the suit filed by the Former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Ndutimi Alaibe against his eligibility as the winner of the September 3rd , 2019 Governorship primaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

Governor Diri said though there is No victor and no vanquish in the judgement of the Federal High Court affirming his eligibility as winner of the Party Governorship primary, the victory is yet another affirmation of the will of God.

He said,” I received today’s judgement of the Federal High Court as yet another affirmation of the will of God. It is victory for the people of Bayelsa and indeed the Ijaw nation. So there is no victor nor vanquished.”

“In the spirit of our unity and the love we share, I again extend the olive branch to all Bayelsans, including my dear brother, Chief Ndutimi Alaibe, to join hands with me to develop and move our state forward. My resolve is that together with all Bayelsans of goodwill, we can make our state greater”.

Meanwhile, a group known as the Bayelsa Diaspora Mandate, has congratulated the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri over his victories at the Supreme Court and the Federal High Court sitting in Owerri, Imo State, describing the victory as a catalyst for peace, Unity and economic development needed in the state.

The group called on those in opposition and into legal tussle against the mandate handed to Governor Douye Diri to sheath their swords and focus on accepting the olive branch extended and support the needed accelerated development of the State.

The Bayelsa Diaspora Mandate, in a statement issued via email by its Coordinator, Comrade Kelvin Otele, “the Bayelsa diaspora mandate is glad and ready to work with the prosperity agenda of your administration, we wish for fair play in carrying out your duty as the Executive governor of Bayelsa state.”

DIRI’S EMERGENCE, NEW DAWN FOR BAYELSA – APOSTLE SULEMAN

The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman on monday described the emergence of Senator Douye Diri as governor of Bayelsa as the beginning of a new dawn for the state.

Apostle Suleiman, who made this known during a call on Governor Douye Diri at the Government House in Yenagoa, described Governor Diri as the best profound leader and a divine gift to the people of the state.

He added that he had since been praying for the governor against conspiracy and gang up by mischief makers, maintaining that it is only prayers that can sustain whatever has been entrusted with by God.

“I want to tell the people of the state that it is a new dawn for them. I pray that God will give the governor ideas and plant around him the right people that will help in bringing peace and development to the state,” he said.

Suleman likened the governor to the biblical David, especially his constant and public show of gratitude and trust in God, noting that his heart of gratitude is a proof that God will stand by him.

He prayed that God would give him ideas and support him with the right people that would not sabotage the opportunity that God has given to him.

In a brief remark, Governor Diri described Apostle Suleman as God’s general and prayed that God will continue to uphold him while thanking the man of God for his fervent prayers for the government and the state as a whole.

The governor urged him not to relent in his prayers for the state, stressing that Bayelsa needs his prayers at this time than ever before.
