The APC Campaign Organization for the Bayelsa West Senatorial bye-elections has described the judgement delivered against the candidate of the party in the said election as a desecration of the Temple of Justice and a clear case of energy dissipation.

The reaction was made by the Director General of the Campaign Organization, Hon. Ofoni Williams, shortly after an unfortunate decision was given by the judge of the Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, bordering on frivolous charges against the candidate of the party, stressing that the said judgement is a confirmation of the recent ranking of the judiciary as the most corrupt institution in Nigeria by the Transparency International.

It states that Bayelsans and lovers of democracy are shock with the endless judgement from our courts that bear more of commercialization of Justice in recent times, particularly, from the Federal High Court in Yenagoa.

It remains a political shock that the intension of the judgement is to demarket APC and her candidate in the forthcoming bye-elections, despite the fact that in this particular case, the justices of the Appeal Court in Abuja had directed that a Stay of Execution be respected on the matter and further directed the Federal High Court to stop forthwith to entertain any matter relating to the issues before the Appeal Court.

According to the Campaign Organization, the decision of the court to revisit the same charges levelled against the candidate of the party, which had earlier been attended to and quashed at the appellate court with insignificant medications is unarguably a travesty of the practice of democracy.

The Campaign outfit, therefore, urges the electorates not to be deceived and discouraged by the judgement as it has always gone beyond the thin line of Justice.

Interestingly, INEC had made it clear that any judgement delivered 48hrs before election shall not be honoured.

Finally, in all latent and manifest forms, the judgement from this particular court is intended wittingly to deny the electorates to exercise their franchise and bring to bear that the Will of the electorates matters nothing in the democratization process.
