As the APC gears up to inaugurate it’s campaign Council, a member of the APC National Campaign Council, Dr. John Idumange has issued a quit notice to the Governor of Bayelsa State Mr. Douye Diri for the governance void in the State. Mr. Idumange issued this statement at his residence in Port Harcourt when he played host to journalists who interviewed him on critical national issues.

He expressed sadness that Nigeria’s street-beggar economy has imposed serious hardship on the people and urged the new economic team of the Federal Government to prioritize the wellbeing of Nigerian citizens. He called on President Tinubu to revisit the issue of the minimum wage asserting that it is immoral and unacceptable that 133 million Nigerians live in poverty in an ocean of abundant human and natural resources. I am confident that the new economic team will timeously address the scourge of poverty, hunger and the rising menace of youth unemployment, he affirmed!

On Bayelsa State, Dr. John Idumange accused the prosperity administration of gross incompetence and mismanagement of the State’s resources. He decried a situation whereby the Diri due process is not followed in the award of contracts. The attendant fraud accompanying the gas turbine contract awarded to cronies, the shoddy concrete road projects and mismanagement of Council resources are a testimony of poor governance culture in the State. Governor Diri according to him has made Bayelsans poorer and the youths jobless because he was never prepared for governance. He has abandoned critical State infrastructure, pushed a parochial sectional agenda and weaponized poverty, he remarked!

Mr. Idumange passed a vote of “No Confidence”,on the prosperity administration, promising that the Nov. 11, 2023 governorship will be a landslide victory for the APC.

“Governor Douye Diri lacks the morality to seek a second tenure because his administration is devoid of legitimacy. What the tenant of Creek Haven owes us is his handover notes, including the balance sheet of all financial transactions. The governor hoarded food meant for Bayelsans.”

“Now, he has converted the subsidy palliative money into his personal money. Bayelsans are not stupid. We have a governor who does not respect public funds and prioritize the welfare of the people. We cannot renew his tenancy in Creek Haven”, Idumange said!
