Alleged Planned Impeachment of Bayelsa Deputy Governor over fear of Tribunal outcome sparks uneasy calm

The Director-General of one of the most formidable Youth Organisations that championed the campaigns & electioneering bid of Gov. Douye Diri & his Deputy Sen.Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the DIRI/LAWRENCE YOUTH PROJECT, had come out sarcastically to condemn the rumor making the round on most social media & other platforms as regard an ongoing compilation of signatures of members of the State House of Assembly for the purpose of a purported impeachment plan of the Deputy Governor.

The Director-General of the Group noted with dismay that it is only one of the most unimaginable antics by some detractors and enemies of our state, thereby expressing the pains and grudge they still hold sway in their hearts, as they’ve continuously decided to see themselves as enemies of the common good, progress and prosperity of our dear State since after the Feb.13th Shocker.

He further posited that in just less than three(3) months of the current Prosperity Administration of the State amidst all the distractions posed by the deadly coronavirus epidemic, the duo of Gov.Douye Diri and his hardworking Deputy-Gov Sen.Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo had exhibited the most harmonious, teamwork and peaceful co-existent working relationship since 1999.

The DG further used the medium to call on his members and all Bayelsans in general not to fall prey to some of these cheap propagandas either in form of an already dead on arrival tribunal litigation, non-existent pressure of resignation or impeachment threat which are all but a figment of the imagination of those who had refused to wake-up from their slumber especially now that almost everyone had moved on.

He opined that due to the trivial and laughable nature of the rumor the media wing of even the Deputy Governor’s Office had been instructed never to waste it’s energy and resources in either responding or refuting a frivolous, malicious and biased rumors of these nature.

In conclusion, Igbeta called on everyone in bayelsa whether PDP, APC, APGA or PPA to join hands at this point with the Gov.Diri led Prosperity administration of the state and move the state to it true Glory instead of intentionally deceiving their followers at the grassroots level with either cooking up a rumor of this nature and circulating same on the media space or by giving false hope of an ongoing litigation at a tribunal which even your own leaders knows is dead on arrival, if only most of them will tell you the true facts as it present itself.
