Stop Dragging Your Name to the Mud – Bayelsa Assembly Member Blast Brass LG Chairman

THE EXISTING TWON-BRASS ACTION COMMITTEE STANDS AND THERE IS NOTHING VICTOR ISAIAH CAN DO

My attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the Caretaker Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Victor Isaiah, wherein he unceremoniously ordered the dissolution of the existing Action Committe of Twon-Brass Kingdom.

I would ordinarily have disregarded this immature move by the council chairman, but when a younger brother allows power to take over his sense of reasoning and consciously foments trouble, then it becomes expedient to guide him aright, as failure to do so may be inimical to the people I graciously represent.

Let me categorically state that the alleged disollution of the action committee, which was collectively instituted by the leadership of Twon-Brass community, cannot and will never hold water.

Victor Isaiah’s claim that the bulk of the existing action committee members are suspected criminals is, no doubt, an excuse to appoint his own stooges who are all members of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While I agree that the chairman can appoint his personal security committee to do his bidding, it should be made abundantly clear that he lacks the powers to abruptly impose a new action committee on the independent people of Twon-Brass.

It is, besides, very apparent that the action of the caretaker chairman is to achieve some political ends. Victor Isaiah should however know that his decree is completely null and void. The existing action committee stands and there is nothing he can do.

I therefore urge the people of Twon-Brass to disregard the statement from the caretaker chairman because he is, knowingly or unknowingly, bent on plunging the town into a needless bedlam. (God forbid!)

In the same vein, I also wish to call on the law enforcement agents operating in Brass LGA as well as well-meaning individuals to call Victor Isaiah to order.

It remains my firm believe that true leadership is about making positive impact and not by polarizing the people or incessantly causing undue tension.

Let Victor Isaiah concentrate on manning developmental projects and stop dragging his name to the mud.
