Bayelsa comes Alive with the crowning of Miss Nembe, Princess Amiojie, a pharmacist and a graduate of Niger delta University Wilberforce as the 5th Miss Peace Queen..


The event which was held on the independence day October 1st at the trendy event centre Yenagoa which also conceided with the 25th anniversary celebrations of the creation of Bayelsa State.


The event was part of activities of the planned Niger delta peace summit which is been organised by the Congress of Niger delta ex-agitators and managed by PGR Entertainment Limited.

The miss peace pageant is created to memorialize the anniversary of the Niger delta Ex-militants presidential Amnesty declaration Ceremony’s commemorating the declaration has been institutionalized since 2010 when the then Governor of Bayelsa “His Excellency Chief Timipre Sylva” declared August 22 as Bayelsa peace Day in appreciation of the peace brought about by the Amnesty Programme. 


The miss peace pageant  is aimed at creating new role models that will serve as an ambassadors of peace  and enhance a new strength, energy and spirits in the advancement of peace in the Niger delta region 
The night of beauty and glamour was very colourful with Miss David Domotimi patience Diamond emerge as 1st Runner up with the title “Face of Amnesty” and miss odi Eradiri Gbanamo treasure  as the  2nd Runner up with the title miss “Peace Tourism”

Other special recognition award was given to miss Ekeremor Ayibanengite Prety ockiya as model of the year  with a cash prize and a one year free hairdo from BM secrets. Also,  miss ogbia  Aisha mamood was awarded as miss photogenic which will have special prize of an all expense paid trip to Accra Ghana from  m.sidoni Nig.  Ltd. 


The organizer further commended the ex agitators for accepting the Amnesty offer that brought about the lasting Peace in the Niger Delta region and appeal for support in promotion of sustainable peace projects such as the miss peace pageant.


Speaking at the event the director of PGR Entertainment, Comr. Seleipre Tonbie, a consultants to the project thanked the Bayelsa state Government, The Bensam oil  and Gas, General boyloaf, Pastor Rueben foundation, The Lawmaker Representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency,  Hon Preye Oseke and the management of m.sidoni Nig. Ltd for their support to make the event a success. 


Highpoint of the event was the presentation of a 10mins documentary film by the contestants while they were in camp which was “titled” A day in the delta” was written and produced by seleipre Tonbie and Directed by Kester Nsirim
