INC Demand the Immediate and Unconditional Release of Chinwetalu Agu

The Igbo National Council (INC) Worldwide condemn in its totality illegal arrest and torture of a seasoned and veteran Nollywoid Actor – Chinwetalu Agu by the Nigerian Army.

The INC wish to state that the wanton arrest and torture of a famous Nigerian seasoned and veteran Nollywoid Actor – Chinwetalu Agu by the Nepotic and Ethnic Biased Nigerian Army violates the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Fundamental Human Rights of Chinwetalu Agu.

We therefore wish to inform the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Leadership of the Nigerian Army that the continued illegal detention and torture of Chinwetalu Agu by the Nigerian Army is capable of sparking a Nationwide Protest which may further distort the fragile peace in the country and cause more economic hardship.

The Nigerian Army and the Federal Government should know that there are no sections of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that prohibits any free citizen of Nigeria from wearing any color of cloth or design that he or she chooses to wear.

Consequent upon the above, the INC therefore give the Nigerian Army and Federal Government seventy (72) hours to unconditionally release Chinwetalu Agu or we shall mobilize every legal means available to us to demand for the immediate and unconditional release of Chinwetalu Agu including Nationwide Protest.

We also call on Chief Willie Obiano led government of Anambra State to quickly rise up to speak against this barbaric act of intimidation by the nepotic and ethnic biased Nigerian Army in this face of New Order of Civilization.
