It was celebration galore as members of the Dise Ogbise foundation visited the internally displaced persons IDP camp in Igbogene to commemorate the 2018 International day of older persons.

The celebration featured dance, pep talks on the rights of older persons, health,and distribution of relief materials to the flood victims especially the older persons.

Dance, smiles and  jubilation as older persons show cased unique dance steps as old school songs rented the air.

The visit featured a dancing competition between males and females as the elderly persons showed unique steps.

Barr. Dise Ogbise, Executive Director of the DO foundation joined by members of her team also took to the dance floor to commemorate the older persons day in grand style.

The Executive Director speaks on the essence of the day and message to the older persons.

Medical personnel were also handy to attend to the health needs of those present.

Some Camp officials and beneficiaries speak on the one day program.

According to the United Nations, almost 700 million people across the globe are now over the age of sixty with a projection of over two billion by the year 2050.

The International day of the Older Persons is globally set aside to celebrate the elderly on the first of October annually
