A suit seeking to set aside the National Caretaker Committee of the ruling All Progressive Congress comes up on Thursday 10th September, 2020.

The suit which was originally filled in Lagos but was later transferred to Abuja by Hon. Justice LIMAN of the Federal High Court, Lagos is among other things seeking for an order of Court setting aside the Caretaker Committee appointed by National Executive Committee of the party after the party’s protracted crisis that saw the sacking of its erstwhile chairman, Comrade Adams Oshomole.

The suit filled by a member of APC in Lagos State is also seeking an order of court to set aside anything that may have been done or set to be done by the said National Caretaker Committee as it was not properly constituted to undertake the assignment(s).

Those named as party to the suit are the All Progressive Congress, Victor Giadom, The National Caretaker Committee and INEC.

The suit which was commenced through originating summons with Suit No. FHC/L/CS/789/2020 and pending before Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja (a vacation judge), was issued by the lawyer to the Applicant, Dimien Edonkumoh, Esq.

The status of the All Progressive Congress in the Ondo State governorship election coming up in October 2020 as well as the Lagos East, Bayelsa Central and Bayelsa West Senatorial elections as the Plaintiff is specifically asking the Court to nullify all primary Elections of the APC conducted by the Governor Buni led National Caretaker Committee of the party.
