Confusion as suspected armed robbers kill JAMB applicant in Bayelsa, raid residents with POS

Gunmen suspected to be criminals numbering about six on Tuesday Morning reportedly shot dead a teenager while robbing their home in Azikoro town, in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The deceased, Miss Elo Lucky, 20, was said to have been shot by the robbers at wee hour for screaming immediately she woke up with shock to see armed men robbing her family.

Elo, who was described as an applicant preparing to sit for the last rescheduled Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, was shot dead few days before the exam.

NAIJA LIVE TV, gathered that the six heavy armed men storm the Health centre area located at Azikoro town, Yenagoa, broke into their house after damaging their burglary, stole their phones, got all the ATM cards and withdrew all their victims monies through the POS machines they came along with.

The source said they were unaware of the robbers attack not until the deceased girl was shot dead because their generator was running at the time.

According to the report, the robbers raided about six other homes in the area unresisted, ransacking homes, rob victims of their cash, and even threaten to kill anyone who doesn’t give their card pin for instant withdrawal through their POS.

The incident left the whole Azikoro town mourning, as sympathiser were seen around their homes in groups talking about the deceased who was young and vibrant.

Contacted on the incident, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
