A Bayelsa-born Industrialist and business mogul, Dr. Azibapu Godbless Eruani has been described as a rare and special gift to Bayelsa and the Ijaw Nation.

An opinion leader and stakeholder in Ogbia local Government Area, Chief Olalibo Osain Ibokolo stated this while addressing a select group of youths and elders in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

He noted that, the recent conferment of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, CFR on Dr. Eruani by President Muhammadu Buhari was a manifestation of the enormous progress he has made in the highly competitive business arena.

According to Chief Ibokolo, Dr. Eruani, who is the President of Azikel Group, has through his investments in aviation, oil and gas, as well as a number of other thriving businesses, proved that, the Bayelsa man and indeed the Ijaws have the technical ability and will to succeed in practically every area of human endeavour.

He pointed out that, Dr. Eruani’s achievements in the highly volatile and unpredictable business environment and the recognition accorded him by President Buhari were wake up calls on Bayelsans, especially the younger generation to invest in industries and businesses that have before now been perceived as No-go-areas for our people.


He went on to describe the multiple award-winning Industrialist as a role model, an inspiration and a catalyst for the industrialization of Bayelsa State and indeed the Niger Delta.

Dr. Eruani, the President of Azikel Group is currently constructing the Azikel Refinery, which is the first private hydro-skimming refinery in Nigeria, that will create a multiplier business chain for the Country, sustainable wealth, which is a key index of a healthy industrial economy.

He has equally made great success in dredging and aviation, with his innovative style and partnership with international organizations as key to sustainable business development.
