A grassroot mobiliser, opinion leader and business executive, Chief Osain Olalibo Ibokolo has described the appointment of Engineer Emmanuel Audu Ohwavborua, FNSE as the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC as a step in the right direction.

Chief Ibokolo, who spoke to NAIJA LIVE TV shortly after news of Engineer Ohwavborua’s appointment was broken, noted that, as the most senior Director in the commission with years of experience as an engineer, he has been rightly selected to reinvigorate the staffs, as well as reposition the interventionist agency for a more result-oriented disposition, pending the formal appointment of a substantive Managing Director and a Board for the commission.

According to him, as a known performer and a goal getter, with proven achievements in his service to the commission over the years, Engr. Ohwavborua will deliver on his mandate as the acting managing director and provide the needed platform and springboard upon which the substantive management will build on to focus on the adequate development of the Niger Delta region.

Chief Ibokolo commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment of Engr. Ohwavborua, while equally calling on the staff and management of the commission to eschew every form of bitterness and support the new leadership to function for the good and progress of the region.

He also called on opinion leaders and stakeholders in the Niger Delta project to give him the needed support and cooperation to carry out his assignments, as stipulated in the law establishing the commission.
