The High Court sitting in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital has on Wednesday, the 25th day of August 2021, ordered the immediate release of Chief Selky Kile Torughedi alias Young Shall Grow, the Paramount Ruler of Azuzuama Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
This is following the adoption of processes filed by Ebikebuna Augustine Aluzu, Esq., counsel to Chief Selky Kile Torughedi, Chief Matthew Agoke and Pastor Jonah Iniwari who are first, second and third Applicants in tge fundamental rights action marked YHC/127M/2021.
The Applicants had sued the Commissioner of Police, the Attorney General of Police and J. B. Lockie (sued as presiding magistrate of magistrate court 1) as first, second and third Respondents respectively following a remand order by the third Respondent on 23rd day of August 2021 remanding the Applicants for thirty days for the enforcement of their fundamental rights.
