As the Bayelsa State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) concludes its Party primaries for Chairmanship, Hon. Moses Cleopas , has vowed that the opposition Party’s would not record any win in the 105 and 8 council seats in forthcoming council polls in Bayelsa State.
The Chairman of the State Chapter of the Party, Hon. Moses Cleopas made the declaration after casting his vote at the Party chairmanship primaries in Oporoma, the headquarters of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Hon. Moses Cleopas while congratulating the Party’s standard bearer of Southern Ijaw, Hon. Nigeria Kia and others in the 8 Local Government Areas,also hailed other aspirants for demonstrating willingness to sacrifice their individual interest for the progress of the party.
Hon. Cleopas has charged all the Party’s chairmanship candidates to kickstart the process of reconciling all other aspirants of the Party to further push forward the frontiers of unity, tranquility and brotherliness.
The Party Chairman used the medium to call on all PDP members in the State to show more understanding, solidarity and a willingness to sacrifice for the general good of the party.
“Let me use this opportunity to call for more understanding and solidarity by members of our party and greater willingness to sacrifice for the general good, to sacrifice individual ambition, individual interest for the greater good, which is what you people have clearly displayed.
“And I will like to also make a call to our party men now that they are seeing things clearly. People should not cross over to the other side, stay back, strengthen, rebuild and reposition this national platform that we already have.”
Hon. Cleopas who commended the national electoral and State returning officers of the People’s Democratic Party for their orderliness, transparency and credibility for the conduct of its chairmanship primaries , noted that the process should serve as direct lesson to the All Progressives Congress(APC)on how elections should be conducted in the State and Country.
He said that the process through which all the Chairmanship candidates of the Party emerged also showed that Bayelsans, Nigerians, irrespective of their individual and group interests, are capable of holding peaceful and credible elections that meet global standards.
