A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed June 26 for hearing on the terms of settlement between the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and Daar Communications PLC over alleged breach of broadcasting code. 

Justice Inyang Ekwo on yesterday adjourned the matter for settlement after listening to the parties in the matter including the NBC, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture and the Attorney General of the Federation. 

Earlier, counsel to Daar Communications, Sylvanus Maliki informed the court that the parties in the matter have met to resolve the issues in the dispute. 

The NBC in a letter dated May 27,  accused Daar of breaching the Nigeria’s Broadcasting Code with its Kakaaki and other programmes and subsequently withdrew its licence.

 The court weekend ordered the parties to appear yesterday to show cause why the motion on notice to restore Daar’s operating licence as against the action of the regulatory agency should not be granted.
