The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned the Former Security Adviser to the Bayelsa Government, Chief Perekeme Kpodoh over his alleged claim of membership of the party and his recent endorsement of the immediate past Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson as the only electable aspirant for the bye-election into the West Senatorial district seat left vacant by the State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Erhujiakpor.
According to the APC, though Chief Perekeme Kpodoh was a member of a group known as N-PDP ahead of the formation of the All Progressive Congress (APC), he has never been a time he was a member of the party and does not have the right whatsoever to discuss, or dictate the directions of the party.
The APC, in a statement issued in Yenagoa and signed by the State Secretary, Hon. Alabo Martins,stated that while the party would not want to join issues with him, but for the sake of setting the records straight, Kpodo is not a member of the APC in Bayelsa neither had he been ever made or contracted to be spokesperson of the party and it’s members. Richard kpodoh lacks the capacity to interfere with the party’s modus of operandi
The Party also noted “though some recent outburst credited to one Mr Perekeme Kpodo,who they claimed is parading himself as a member of the party calling for the removal of Chief Timipre Sylva as the leader of the APC in the state if the party must remain afloat. The party can entertain only constructive criticism, but will not tolerate it in the person of Kpodo, who has no connection with the party and no iota of right or sensibility to cast virulent attacks and aspersions at the pedigree and reputation of the Minister State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva.”
“Sylva, is and will remain the leader of the party in Bayelsa state. Furthermore, APC was brought to the state by Chief Timipre Sylva. Since ,he, kpodo is thirsty and desirous of being a member he should follow due process and stop parading himself as a member of the party, for Sylva will not be ready or stoop so low to associate with a sacrilege of his type.”
The APC state secretary,also stated that the party is formidable and fully ready to take part in the next rounds of senatorial elections,” and with our capable aspirant.s the party will be fielding, it will cling to victory as it did in the last gubernatorial election”
“ It’s been my position that Perekeme kpodo should be checked psychologically and mentally for us to be sure that he has no related problems. His activities showed He is not an APC member and can never be one, Seriake Dickson is his Kinsman and a member of his party PDP so he can speak for him, if he can shower encomimiun on a nebulous character, this has come to show who really Richard kpodo is”.
