Beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), under the aegis of Coalition of the Niger Delta Ex-agitators, have called on all beneficiaries of the programme not to indulge in any form of electoral violence in the upcoming general elections.

The Spokesperson of the group, Comrade Senibo Spencer, who gave the warning in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, in Abuja, asked Beneficiaries to turn out en masse to participate in the accreditation process and vote their preferred candidates during the elections.

Comrade Senibo advised the leadership of the ex-agitators, their subjects and youths of the region, not to allow themselves to be used as disposable tools in the 2023 general elections, rather conduct themselves with dignity, shunning violence, thuggery and hooliganism in all forms as ambassadors of peace.

He appealed to the people of the Niger Delta region to embrace peace and abide by the rules of the electoral regulations to achieve progress and stability in the region and further called on all aspiring candidates to shun acts capable of undermining the general elections, before, during and after the polls.

The spokesperson of the group also solicited the support of politicians and stakeholders, stating that security agents only could not succeed in the task of providing security without assistance from the electorates. He further said “Peace and stability are the major concerns for the elections.”
