I wish to inform all my supporters and indeed the general public that my official declaration for the 2019 House of Representatives elections which was earlier slated for Saturday, 25th August, 2018 in Twon-Brass, has been put on hold.

The decision to postpone the event became imperative due to the ugly incident that occurred on Monday, 20th August in Twon-Brass, which left two promising young lads dead and several others critically injured.

With every sense of humility, I remain an exponent of humanism, hence it would be out of place to carry on with the declaration while we mourn our brothers who were murdered in cold blood.

A new date will therefore be communicated to individuals and groups that have been calling persistently, indicating their interest to attend the declaration. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to all.

Meanwhile, I strongly condemn the brutal killing of Peter George and Kelvin Ikurusi by the bloodthirsty thugs of the Caretaker Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Victor Isaiah.

I, however, wish to call on the peace-loving people of Twon-Brass, particularly members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to remain calm and allow the law to take its full course, as two wrongs will never make a right.

While I deeply commiserate with the families of the deceased, I wish to assure that we will pursue this matter to a logical conclusion. We will not rest until the perpetrators of this heinous act as well as their sponsors are brought to justice.
