VIDEO: IYC Expressed Sadness Over Delayed Relocation of IOC’s Operation Head Offices to Bayelsa …Tasked Petroleum Minister to do the Needful

The Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Central Zone Chairman, Comrade Clever Inodu has reiterated sadness of the Youths over the delayed relocation of International Oil Companies (IOC’s) operational Head offices to Bayelsa State

Comrade Inodu also called on the Hon. Minister of Petroleum Chief Timipre Sylva to add his voice so that IOC’s operational head offices can be relocated to their new bases in the Niger Delta Region.

His Words Thusly;
“Once again, I was privileged to speak on behalf of Ijaw youths at the Special Town hall Meeting organised by the office of the Minister For State, Petroleum Resources His Excellency Chief Timipre Sylva. In attendance was His Excellency the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State Sen. Douye Diri and other notable leaders of Ijaw Land”

“In my presentation, I urged the Minister to engage the YOUTHS actively in his lined up programs and projects for our dear State pointing out that PEACE and meaningful development can only be witnessed in an environment devoid of crimes which most times can be attributed to unemployment, youth restiveness and idleness”

“I reiterated the sadness of the Youths over the delayed relocation of International Oil Companies (IOC’s) operational offices to Bayelsa State and called on the Hon. Minister to add his voice so that IOC’s operational head offices can be relocated to their new bases in the Niger Delta soonest. The attention of the Hon. Minister was also drawn to the lingering Atala Oil field revocation and the Opereational Certificate of the OPL 120 meant for Bayelsa”

“Finally, i reminded the Hon. Minister of the resolutions reached at the end of National Council on Hydrocarbons SUMMIT held in Bayelsa sometime in 2020 where it was resolved that the upstream Regulatory Commission be sitted in Bayelsa and uptil this moment nothing has been heard to this regard”

“Concluding, I thanked the Minister for the Brass fertilizer company which the FID has been signed as well as the Atlantic Refinery that he just did the grand breaking”

“I encouraged him to see that the projects are not only started but also completed so that our boys can be engaged. I concluded by informing him that the Ijaw Youths are confident that he will use his good office to attract meaningful development to our dear State”

In a related development, The Central Zone Chairman Comrade Clever Inodu while responding to newsmen in his office commended the Hon. Minister for the Town Hall meeting becasue of its uniqueness.

He said it has provided a platform where sons and daughters of the State from diverse political ideologies and various works of life came together to brainstorm and subsequently, make conserted efforts for the betterment of our dear State. Thank you my leaders for the previlage.
