The Joint political appointees association group of the restoration government have embarked on a peaceful protest Yesterday in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

The aggrieved appointees of the restoration government who went on a peaceful protest at the government house Yenagoa, has called on Governor Seriake Dickson to pay them their severance allowances as the restoration government is coming to an end by February 14th 2020.

The appointees who took the peaceful protest to the government house over the non payment of their December salaries including their severance allowances was addressed by the acting Governor of Bayelsa State Barr. Kemala Okara.

The protesters made reference to other appointees like the commissioners and some Special Advisers who have received their severancies entitlement ask why Governor Dickson did not pay everyone that are due for the payment rather than making selections of payments.

Barr. Kemela Okara, the secretary to the State Government, who double as the acting Governor and also the chairman of the transition committee addressed the aggrieved appointees, by stating that those who are entitled for servceravnce will surely get their pay as the commissioners who have already received their N5Million.

While some of the aggrieved appointees pointed out that the highest commissioner that was paid is 2.8, down to the least of N200,000 and never the N5Million claimed by the SSG.

They also wish to knw the mode of payment as most commissioners whom were appointed at the same time got 2.8m while others got a paltry sum of N700,000 and below.

Ther restoration government under the leadership of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson is coming to and end on the 14th of February 2020, who will be handing over to the Govenor-elect Chief David Lyon.
