Sylva named Leadership Newspaper Public Service Person of the year

…hails positive evolution of Nigerian journalism.

Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E Timipre Sylva, was on Tuesday named the Leadership Newspaper Public Service Person of the Year 2021 at the International Conference Center, Abuja.

Organisers of the award described Sylva as an ‘outstanding public officeholder’ with apparent and uncharted strides in the nations energy sector.

‘Most remarkable of his achievements is the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (now Act) into law, thus delivering on a critical issue that formed the 9-point Agenda rolled out when he became Minister’

Sylva, who was represented by his Protocol aide (International) Mr Jimmy Ajim, described the award as humbling and an incentive to do more. The Minister hailed the organisers for their professionalism and passion for nation building through quality reporting.

Also applauded was the steady growth of Nigeria’s journalism which has been improving in all departments. The Minister is certain that a healthy press is a necessary ingredient for a prosperous nation.

Sylva thanked Leadership Newspaper for the honour and praised the excellent job Nigerian journalists and publishers are doing across the country.
