SAD NEWS: Generator fume kills 7 including top music producer in Yenagoa [PHOTOS]

At least seven persons have reportedly died from generator fumes on Tuesday at Ebis mechanic road, Amarata area in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

Reports has it that they were recording songs in a studio on Monday night when the ugly incident claimed the lives of the artists including an upcoming talent, a music artist known as Braokubo YentownMayor ReubenBraokubo YentownMayor Reuben and six others.

Tragedy struck in the early hours of Tuesday when the seven persons lost their lives after inhaling fumes from power generating set (generator) reportedly placed inside the music studio.

According to some residents, the deceased were working in the recording studio, owned by one of them, identified as Slimkels Braokubo. They were said to have worked late into the night using a generator due to the poor power supply situation in the state and may have slept off leaving the generator running in the studio lacking proper ventilation.

NLtv INT’L was told that six of the victims were discovered dead Tuesday morning while one who was unconscious was rushed to nearby hospital but later gave up the ghost.

Some of the victims were said to be students of the state owned Niger Delta University (NDU), who are into music recording to help themselves while in school.

As at the time of press, security operatives had condoned off the area with the corpses evacuated and deposited at the FMC morgue in Yenagoa.
