I ,  Sobomaba Abigail Ayo. O (Mrs). The Governorship Candidate of the National Rescue Movement Party (NRM) in Rivers State in the forthcoming 2019 Governorship Election, felicitates with the lovely people of Rivers State this New Year. I am calling on the people of Rivers State to take deliberate steps by making worthy choices in the New Year which could turn around their fortunes and that of the larger society.                 

I thank the almighty God for his numerous blessings.     I believe the celebration of this New Year would afford the citizens moments of reflection. 

May we all observe a minute silence for the innocent souls of those who lost their lives during the collapse of the seven storey building in Port-Harcourt. May their soul rest in peace. This year is a year of decision, to right all the wrongs of the past through the wise use of your PVCs at the polls. It is a year to decide with your votes, either to remain under the bondage of bad and corrupt leadership or elect a credible and trustworthy leader to remove you from political captivity and bondage. With me as Governor of Rivers State, the year 2019 will usher in a new kind of politics and governance that will totally eradicate poverty completely and completely wipe out that monstrous word called “unemployment”. In fact it shall be history and definitely the crime rate in the state shall be brought to zero.                                          

I am assuring all Rivers State citizens that I shall look into all the sectors in Government and do the needful excellently. Education, Environment, Agriculture, Women, Youth, Infrastructural and Human capacity Development, security among others.                                

It is worthy of note to state here that there shall be development of new cities in Ahoada, Orashi, Ogoni,Abua, Oyigbo,Etche, and all the Oceania (Riverine) areas (linking all Oceania areas with solid bridges). 

The much talked about Trans-Kalabari Road must be completed as a matter of urgency. My government shall embark on urban / rural planning. We shall brand Rivers State a choice destination for cultural, holidays and medical  tourism. I shall promote the development of sports in Rivers State to the world class level.  Pensioners shall be paid promptly and Rivers State students shall have educational support at all levels.                                   I appeal to you all to support and massively vote Sobomaba Abigail Ayo. O.  as the next Governor of Rivers State.
