REVEALED: How Sylva, Dickson embarrassed Former Gov. Oshiomole during APC primaries in Bayelsa— SYLVA’’s Political associate reveals

Hon. Sunday Frank-Okputu, a close associate of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva has opened up on his role during the over an hour hostage taking of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adam Aliu Oshiomole when he was a sitting Governor and the returning officer of the Party for the 2015 Governorship primaries of the Party at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, the State capital.

Sunday Frank-Okputu, who was then the State Chairman of the defunct Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) and the unofficial spokesman of Chief Timipre Sylva on Nigerian television interview shows, said the plot to embarrass and hold hostage the then Edo State Governor, Adam Aliu Oshiomole, was provoked by a deceitful security report sent through him to Sylva the night preceding the APC governorship primaries.

According to him, Governor Seriake Dickson, who at that time was seeking for second term, called him as a close friend to Former Governor Timipre Sylva, and told me that the arrival of the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole without due and proper protocol is suspicious.

Dickson said the normal protocol is for the Edo Governor to visit him on arrival in the State and inform him that he is around for the APC primaries and that he would request for security for himself and the entire APC,” But Oshiomole did not do that. And Dickson said he suspected Oshiomole movement.”

“With that established, he called me, as a friend to Sylva, that he(Dickson) have made some contacts and was told  Oshiomole has been briefed to deliver Alaibe to win the ticket of the APC ahead of the 2016 Governorship election. He asked me to tell Sylva about Oshiomole secret mission. He advised that Sylva should do everything to stop the Governorship primaries. I called Sylva and told him. He asked me my source but I refused. But we did everything to stop the primaries from holding.”

The then Governor of Edo State ,Adams Oshiomole, was held hostage by gun wielding youths and rescued by a detachment of soldiers from the Joint Military Task Force from the venue. The row over the role of Sylva sparked off a row between officials of the party.

Frank-Okputu said it was later that Sylva and his supporters confirmed that the security report was true on one side, and that Gov. Dickson did that because he wanted Sylva to win the ticket rather than a tough challenger like Chief Ndutimi Alaibe.

“After Gov. Dickson have used me to succeed, he later called me again and said he really did that because he preferred Sylva to succeed him than Chief Timi Alaibe. Many thought he loved Sylva that was why he did that.But he told me that his help was to stop Timi Alaibe. He said with Sylva, he is sure of winning the second term in office. Which he did during the general election and the ordered re-run.”

Hon. Sunday Frank-Okputu, who was also one of the Chairmanship aspirants of the Bayelsa APC sidelined by the leadership of Chief Timipre Sylva during the formation of the Hon. Jothan Amos led State Executive of the Party in the State, said the same scenario if playing out with the endorsement of David Lyon by Sylva, Sylva new romance with Gov. Dickson and the ongoing Court case stopping the primaries of the APC that had led to two postponement with the deadline of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) starring at the party.

Frank-Okputu said in an exclusive interview in Yenagoa, that Governor Seriake Dickson have been brought into an unholy alliance with Chief Timipre Sylva in which evidences have been gathered against David Lyon, who is being plotted to become the APC flag bearer despite the popular demand for the Former Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.

He said “ Governor Dickson have piled up evidences against David Lyon. Once the APC make him the flag bearer, the State PDP will destroy him with evidences of his nefarious activities during the time as State Oil Surveillance jobs. The evidences abound before the Justice Akpomiemie Commission of Inquiry.Gov. Dickson is now plotting to make David Lyon the candidate of the Party in alliance with Chief Sylva.”

“The plan is to destroy David Lyon and embarrass the APC with a Rivers State treatment waiting. I urge the National Leadership of the APC to shun the promises of oil blocs made by Sylva as New Minister of State for Petroleum, but focus on the need not to throw away the brighter chance of the APC winning Bayelsa State with a candidate that has the capacity and acceptability to deliver the state.”

On the alleged spoiler role plot being perpetuated by Chief Timipre Sylva, Hon. Sunday Frank-Okputu said Sylva is plotting to spoil APC chances in the November 16th Governorship election, ”Nobody should listen to Sylva on who becomes the flag bearer of the Party. The spoiler role he promised a former member of the Federal House of Representative that the role he is playing with David Lyon.And if today, we fall victim of the plot, he will only use us to negotiate with Gov.Dickson. And the seat will be left vacant for him to contest in 2023;If today,Bayelsa APC get a Governor, Sylva will loose his leadership role and the sitting APC Governor will assume the leadership position and create new party structure with vibrancy and capacity that will touch the lives of Bayelsa people.”

“Why is he scared of indirect primaries? Sylva knows that he has lost touch with the party. Nobody should be deceived. They have started the plot.I have been sylva’s spokesman for years. I have been threatened by people for my support for Sylva. I have told them that nobody can kill me except God. And I told them today that even Sylva cannot kill me.”

Deputy Senate President, Sen. Omo-Agege connection

He said the plot is between the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who he said negotiated with Sylva to collect the Managing Director Position for Delta State which was meant for Bayelsa and give the position of Finance and Administration to Bayelsa.,”it is just to build the relationship with Omo-Agege and prepare for 2023. Sylva does not have the interest of Bayelsa and APC at heart.He is not doing these because he loves the APC, he is doing ti because he wants to destroy the party chances and hold the party in his pocket ahead of 2023.”

“I think God will not allow him. Any man that thinks he is God. God will not let him. Bayelsa and APC will never lose to Sylva and Ono-Agege. If Bayelsa APC is to rule Bayelsa State,it is not with Sylva’s choice. I have fasted and pray.

Sylva and Omo-Agege are planning to contest in 2023 and they are working together to set up their structure and cripple the State structures of the Party,”They are trying to frustrate the chances of the party in Delta and Bayelsa States. Sylva don’t want Bayelsa to win in Bayelsa.”
