Society remains complex and different readings from same subject matter is not misplaced. This account for various views and presentations, which in itself demonstrates the place and role of individual differences in a given society.
These different readings and views call for team work, streamlining for positive resolutions and management on or of issues.
The above in question is related to our collective aspirations, one ness necessitated the coming or forming of unions, Associations and government etc.
Hence, government and it operators become in charge of the
affairs of mankind and common wealth to do the needful.
Secondly, because individual engagement might not yield the desired result to a certain degree for obvious reasons.
Ranging from the magnitude of certain projects such as Power, Dams Roads, Railway, Defences, currency and policing etc.
On the strength of the above individuals must compliment the role of government. The attitude that government properties is no man property must be jettisoned swiftly in our mentality.
One is dumbfounded that our society (Bayelsa state) is duely recognized, even by her citizenry as the capital of darkness speaks volumes.
This is firstly, because there seems no serious participatory role of citizens after elections.
We have seen government as a different entity completely. Thus, the need for accountability is not mentioned and demanded by Bayelsans.
Particulars of non participation is demonstrated firstly by us (society), are concealment, conspiracy and complexity that is in place.
It’s uncharitable and shocking that the structures of society is unable to be unaware of vandalization of transmission Towers numbering thirteen of which some are within communities in Bayelsa state, misrepresent us all.
It’s a known fact that, considering the nature ( weight, size )of the material used for the towers that are not common.
Makes (society) us all, guilty as charged in the moral court in relation to the spirit of team work that is elicited by our collective aspirations and existence.
Patriotism had found it way out of Bayelsa state , as it stands with even at our community level.
This act of seeming concealment, conspiracy and complexity copiously exhibited, is an indirect assault on ourselves.
And for pressure sake, our common wealth is forced to be depleted for government to partly redeem herself.
The pressure brought to bear by the absence of electricity shall increase in the days to come for standard reasons.
Even though, the reasons as to why there is zero power supply in Bayelsa state is made known.
Simply because of the degree of discomfort Bayelsans are subjected to unnecessarily.
Ordinarily, Bayelsans ought not to be at home with PHCN and it related body such as TCN etc.
If the government of Bayelsa state had wore her thinking cap reasonably and timeously. Because the inability to install procured gas turbines for thirteen years running is not a plus to Bayelsa state government.
In the same vain do not elicit Joy from Bayelsans, upon the reasons advanced for total darkness in Bayelsa state.
In addition to the above that in the forward thinking of government.
Government in partnership with private entity is putting up Metering Assembly plant.
Bayelsans are forced to think that the government is interested in privatising the state into the hands of privilege individual,s unjustly.
The oil to the above feelings is hinted on the fact that it’s important to do first thing first.
The installation of procured gas turbines that are lying fallow for too long a time.
The story in the rumour mill indicates that power generation in the state had been sold out in the name of privatisation.
More particularly, the government of the day body language xray that government as no business in business even with well established potentials known to all Dick ,Tom and Harry.
Interestingly, Bayelsa state is favourably endowed to generate power for her citizens.
Be it by wind, Gas, Hydro and Solar sources for productivity .
Noting further, the distribution of low and high tension, within the state is occasioned by the state and spirited individuals by 80 to 95 percent.
There is no gain saying that most of the street in the state capital Yenagoa and environs were connected and done by the neighborhood including transformers installations.
But government seems interested to dance to the galley half naked. When citizenry complains of high bills or tariffs in the state.
Creating an indirect platform for citizenry to take laws into their hands occasioned by high tariffs as witness over time continuously.
The failure of Bayelsa state government to provide alternative power to that PHCN.
It, makes government helpless and shall be unable to make desirous input duely on high tariffs.
This brings to focus the place of Bayelsa state price control unit. To the extent that the Governor office shall equally house a unit too.
The rational is to ensure the people sees government as showing concerned over the cost of basic items.
In the true sense it a misplaced approach at regulating price without corresponding input in any form.
One is forced to question the rational behind government ill motive. In the absence of government input in the production processes.
But government pressurised for price control without alternative is nothing short of autocracy.
Secondly, government do not encourage competition by their presence in the sector in question.
So therefore, government should realise that there is no sin in government being in business.
In line to the above, government presence will starve off monopoly in the economy.
The good and great news is that power is deregulated in Nigeria federation at the tail end of PMB second term or tenure.
Therefore, no excuse is attainable as to why Bayelsa state with her numerous potentials should not be in the business of generating power for citizens.
Other reasons approved the above. If not for any other reason, for the sake of generating and growing the state internal generated revenue remains noble.
Edo, Delta and many other states is at it. The self exclusion of Bayelsa state might confirm the privatisation of this sector in the state into private pockets unjustly.
Other sphere of worry, is the attitude of teaming youths of Bayelsa state that allow government and multinational properties to be vandalised unceremoniously.
Such as transformers , communication and transmitting towers, communities generating sets, school building etc.
Its the place of the youth’s of any community to note and realise that they owe their respective communities a fundamental functional social cooperate responsibility to complement government.
In defence and guide their collective aspirations, interest jealously.
The Izon youth council and other notable youths bodies should be alive to their responsibilities, by rejigging consciousness spirit of team work , communism and progressive ness.
So that their existence is worth while and not misplaced.
The various structures of society that are known to be in existence must equally demonstrate seriousness and guidance to the youth’s populace.
Thus, be it clan head, community traditional ruler’s, National President of communities, chairman, etc must till and cultivate accept able standards for our collective heritage.
This article must not fail to bring to fore the vandalization occasioned and disappearance of items into thin air, putting into consideration the number of check points on the East west road section of Patani to Port Harcourt.
Secondly, the only like route for movement of goods and services, as earlier stated.
The desire of Bayelsa state government to participate in restoring power in Bayelsa state, is welcomed.
But the contribution should be a rebate to the state. Where citizens shall enjoy power free for certain months need to be reached.
In the absence of that, it implies that we must have further short changed ourselves and it smells fraud.
Importantly, even in freedom there are no free meals. Bayelsa state government should note with all amount seriousness without delay.
Therefore, Bayelsans need to be appeased with appropriate management of her resources and provision of basic necessities of life that guarantee sustainability.
This vandalism of power installation in itself is an economy sabotage .
The economy of Bayelsa state is run aground and by 60 to 80 days running. Impact of absence of power might have cost citizenry 300 billion naira, even with the poor industrialisation status of the state.
The same muscle expended on crude oil theft be exacerbated on power installations vandals all over Nigeria.
Our security architecture should fish out these vandals and it’s not too late to achieve.
