The groups led by the President of Igbo Women Pressure Group, Lady C. N. Umenweke and President of Osun Non-Indigenes Association, Chief Iheonunaekwu George in separate addresses pledged their support for Senator Adeleke on three grounds namely the family records of public service, performance of Adeleke as a Senator and the good records of the last PDP government in the state.

Lady Umenweke said her group numbering over 20,000 in the state endorsed the PDP candidate because “Our lives and properties will be protected in the hands of our son, Dr Ademola Adeleke”, promising that “Igbos in Osun State are prepared to embark on mobilisation to enthrone Adeleke as the governor”.

High Chief Iheonunaekwu in his address lamented the economic paralysis facing traders and businesses in the state, stating that the Aregbesola government has pauperised the state and should be replaced with Adeleke whom he described as a man of the people.

“Igbos and other businesses suffer a lot under the APC government. Non-indigenes are neglected and excluded from government and programmes. We trust that Ademola Adeleke government will integrate non-indigenes and create conditions for businesses to thrive. We endorse the PDP candidate because that is the only way out of our suffering and anguish”, he said.

Responding the President of the Adeleke Women of Substance (AWS), Chief Mrs Modupe Sanni Adeleke expressed appreciation of the Adeleke family for the endorsement of their son for the governorship, narrating how passionate and prepared the PDP candidate is to take the state out of the wood.

Waving and sharing the manifestos of the PDP governorship candidate, Mrs Sani Adeleke recalled the good policies and programmes of late Governor Isiaka Adeleke and promised that Senator Adeleke will restore economic prosperity and grant succour to the poor.

“I assure you that our son and brother when elected Governor will involve Igbos and other non-indigenes in government and programmes. That is the trend all over the federation. Igbos and others will be part of the incoming government”, she reassured.

A top female politician in Osun State, Chief Mrs Funmilayo Olasehinde, the secretary of the Adeleke Women of Substance urged the Igbo community to follow up the endorsement with mass mobilisation across the state, adding “Your endorsement of Adeleke is a right one as he is the candidate destined to take Osun to greater height.

“Get out the vote. Mobilise your members. Let’s change the change”, she charged the teeming Igbo women and men at the event.

Wife of the PDP candidate, Mrs Ngozi Adeleke in her votes of thanks said the incoming administration will serve the interest of all residents of Osun State with focus on boosting trade and businesses to eradicate poverty in the state.

“My husband will run a government in which all residents of Osun State will have a sense of belonging. Non-indigenes will not be neglected”, she reassured.
