…call for calm amongst various parties

Following the recent accusations against Prince Ned Nwoko, a renowned philanthropist, lawyer, businessman and politician by one Miss Pamela Ifejoku Uzor over the arrest of her father, Mr. Okey Ifejoku, President of Idumuje Ugboko Development Union (IUDU), Mangrovepen.ng has gathered fresh facts.

A Channels TV interview, obtained by Mangrovepen.ng, which featured Chris Ogwu, the Iyase of Idumuje Ugboko, Prince Walter Ezeiashi (Former President General Idumuje Ugboko Development Union) and Dr. Micheal Nwoko (Secretary of the Umu-omorhusi Nwoko Royal Family), all countered the allegations made by some of the community members against Prince Ned.

They affirmed that it was the late Professor Gabriel Nwoko and Martins Prince Nwoko that met with Prince Ned to initiate the idea of establishing a university in 2014; adding that in 2015 they took the matter to the late Royal Majesty, Ibi Albert, wherein he asked them to put up an application to make it formal while following due process.

They further stated that family members of the victims of the 2017 mayhem are the ones seeking justice and not Prince Ned Nwoko as being maliciously alleged.

According to an indigene of the community who preferred anonymity, “Prince Ned Nwoko is not responsible for the arrest of Mr. Ifejoku, rather he was arrested because of the mayhem he orchestrated on the 23rd May 2017 that led to the destruction o properties in the community which resulted to the death of Mr. Cyprian Koumaru, a motorcyclist from Benue State and also Mr. kennedy Iloh, who died a year later at the Federal Medical Center Asaba, Delta State, after his house and properties were destroyed in the chaos.”

A son of Kennedy Iloh, Didi (popularly called Kristalrich) also took to his Instagram page to counter Miss Pamela, stressing that her father is under police detention due to the mayhem he unleashed in 2017.

He, therefore, advised her to stop the emotional blackmail which, according to him, is aimed at getting undeserved sympathy.

Also, a daughter of the Odogwu of Idumuje Ugboko in an online video enjoined Miss Pamela to stop inciting the public with lies and allow justice to take its full course.

Meanwhile, Mr. Frank Nzeribe who also hails from Idumuje Ugboko expressed displeasure over what he called “media backlash” against Ned in recent times.

He maintained that “Ned is only guilty of attracting development to his people, hence does not deserve the campaign of calumny being sponsored by naysayers who only care about themselves and not the peace and progress of Idumuje Ugboko.

He sued for peace amongst various parties and noted that it is unhealthy to make furious allegations on a matter that is sub judice.
