The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announces that they are set to receive 1,780 corps members for the 2018 Batch ‘B’ orientation exercise in Bayelsa State.

According to the NYSC office in Bayelsa, the NYSC has commenced repairs to dilapidated sections of the orientation camp located in Kaima community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the State.

The State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Loto Bolade, while fielding questions from newsmen in Yenagoa, said the preparations are in Top Gear for the orientation exercise which will last from 24th July to 13th August, 2018.

She said the swearing-in ceremony of the prospective corps members will hold on Thursday 26th July, 2018 with Governor Seriake Dickson expected to Preside.

She stated that the NYSC secretariat has commenced repair works at the dilapidated sections of the camp building and a complete fumigation exercise to ensure that the camp is well prepared to receive the Corps members.

The NYSC State Coordinator urged transport operators and residents of the State to ensure that the that the youths, as they report to the State for national assignment, to give necessary assistance and ensure the usual warm hospitality of the people of the State.

She called on the State Government, local government Chairmen and private organisation and well meaning philatropistst support the NYSC scheme to ensure a successful orientation exercise.

She also urged the employee, who are who sought the services of the Corps members to formally apply to the scheme as corps members will be evenly distributed across the state after the three weeks orientation exercise.
