“Today, 3rd of February, 2022, I went to the office and the support staff at the secretariat informed me that NNDC brought a bag of rice for me for reasons I do not know.”
“That, I Chief Nengi James, elected and working for the Ijaw people will not and never betray the Ijaw cause for a mere bag of rice. Not for any reason. Recall that Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari promised to constitute the management of the NNDC Board after the forensic audit. But to the dismay and dissatisfaction of every Nigerian of good conscience, he failed to make reality his promise even after the submission of the forensic audit report.”
“Being a stakeholder who contributed greatly to the formation of the Niger Delta Development Board, NNDC, working under Chief Dappa-Biriye and Chief E.K Clark, I can stoutly state that the Board has long lost its MANDATE. Again, mention is still made that the current management of NNDC styled as Sole Administrator is a gross violation of the Act establishing the Board.”
“I Make bold to state for the last time that I do not want their Greek gift (bag of rice,) and I reject it officially. I advice the Sole Administrator and the supervising minister of NNDC to be concern about working to reduce poverty, improve the living conditions of the people through the construction of durable roads, economic empowerment schemes, and the provision of other basic infrastructural amenities.”
“I further urge Mr President Muhammadu Buhari to do needful to immediately constitute the substantive board of NNDC in consance with existing laws.”
