Bayelsa State has registered its first coronavirus death, after recording 6 new cases this week.
The victim, a military personnel, died after suffering from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and other related complications days later he tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Health Officials, all attempts to safe his life, proved abortive even with the best of supportive care and treatment.
“We did our best even at the risk of exposure of covid to some of our doctors during the delicate procedures”.
Information from the Ministry of Health indicate that the corpse has since been buried by the Covid-19 Safe Burial Team and witnessed by the military and the victims family with strict compliance with the necessary protective measures and protocols.
