“Maciver’s Nomination as Sylva’s Deputy is a step to Restoring Bayelsans Lost glory” – Group Declares

A group called ’New Generation Leaders of Bayelsa” across the eight local government areas in Bayelsa state have declared their support for the Bayelsa APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva and his Deputy, Great Joshua MacIver.

This is coming after the nomination of a philanthropist and product of the Ijaw struggle, Great Joshua MacIver as his running mate.

This was contained in a statement on Saturday by Apostle Bodmas Prince Kemepadei, an astute Ijaw youths leader and vocal voice of the Niger Delta cum Director General of Bayelsa New Generation leaders, with membership cutting across the twenty four constituencies and 105 wards in the state, stating that the decision of Great Joshua Maciver is a step to restoring the glory and honor of Ijaw people.

According to him, “the choice of distinguished Great Joshua Maciver as a deputy Governor candidate is an excellent joint ticket.

“An excellent joint ticket because Maciver is innovative, transparent, sincere, upright, lover of development and builder of human capacity

“He did well as a former caretaker chairman of Southern-Ijaw LGA in terms of road construction, human empowerment, capacity building, skills acquisition and pursuing development oriented goals

” MacIver is also loved beyond party lines and across Ijaw Nation which will enable him garner the needed support to influence votes in his favour

“Already, the contenders are jittery and there has been confusion since the announcement, rather than marketing their candidate, they have resorted to smear campaigns to abuse the mind of the masses in a bid to sway votes using the instrumentality of propaganda, a futile attempt and last kick of a dieing horse

” We urge Chief Timipre Sylva to be resolute, focus and not be distracted by the gimmicks of distractors, because Bayelsans are solidly behind you”

MEANWHILE, a Chieftain and the Pioneer Chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe has also congratulated his brother, The Great Joshua Maciver on his emergence as Running Mate to the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Chief Timipre Marlin Sylva for the November 11 election.

Chief Tiwei commended Chief Timipre Sylva for considering Southern Ijaw Local Government Area for the number 2 position in the state, noting that Southern Ijaw LGA has with the pick of the Izon Tukpa 1 been given another opportunity to be at the highest levels of government in the state having lost the number 1 position in the state to the Supreme Court judgement of February 13, 2020 which denied the local government of the number 1 position.

Chief Timipa Orunimighe profoundly commended Chief Timipre Sylva and the APC for considering a worthy son of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area who has contributed in no small measure to the struggle for the emancipation of the Ijaw people.

He assured the Great Joshua Maciver that he and his team will join him and the party to work assiduously to ensure victory for the party in the November 11 gubernatorial election to engender the needed development in the state.
