NAIJA LIVE TV reports that the first Kano Coronavirus death was announced by the Kano State Ministry of Health in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Wednesday night, April 15.
NAIJA LIVE TV understands that the Kano State government led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje recorded its first Coronavirus death at exactly 11:55 pm on Wednesday, the tweet by the Kano State Ministry of Health revealed.
“Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 11:55 pm, 1 death of #COVID19 has been recorded in @KanostateNg,” the tweet added.
Meanwhile, NAIJA LIVE TV reported that the development came on the night Nigeria recorded new COVID-19 cases with the NCDC announcing 34 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
The NCDC noted that of the thirty-four coronavirus cases recorded on Wednesday night, 18 were detected in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, 12 in Kano 2 in Katsina 1 in Delta and 1 in Niger State, northern Nigeria.
Kano earlier this week announce the index case of COVID-19 in the state and it was also reported as a former Nigerian ambassador who recently returned from Lagos.
