JUST IN: Joshua Dariye bags 14 years imprisonment

A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has sentenced ex-Plateau state governor, Joshua Dariye, to 14 years in prison for criminal breach of trust, 2 years for misappropriation of public funds.

TheNewsGuru reports after a trial that lasted about 8 hours, Justice Adebukola Banjoko sent Dariye to jail and notes that Dariye was, in fact, richer than his state.

“There should be no compromise to corruption by whatever shade or colour, rich or poor,” Justice Banjoko said in the judgment
