JUST IN: INEC Reject Supreme Court Judgement that Sacked Bayelsa Governor-Elect

Douye Diri will not be sworn in tomorrow. David Lyon may likely be the one to be sworn in.

Sources say the Supreme Court judgement has reached INEC. But curiously, only two judges- Justice Mary Odili and one other signed it out of a panel of five judges that handled the matter. Because of this, INEC says it can’t honour the judgement or issue a certificate of return to Diri based on it.

Besides, Diri does not have the constitutionally required spread to be sworn in as Governor. He couldn’t get at least 25% of votes cast in 6 LGAs.

Conclusion?

Lyon gets sworn in tomorrow!!! Or neither he nor Diri will be sworn in!!!
