Ex-Militant groups involved in the protection of Oil pipelines within the six states of the Niger Delta region yesterday faulted the protest staged protest against te alleged hijack of surveillance jobs by Ocean Marine Solutions Limited owned by Captain Idahosa Okunbo. under Oil Mining Lease (OML 30) in Delta State.
The protesting youths, who are suspected to be sponsored claimed that the surveillance job by the Ocean Marine Solutions Limited had infringed on their jobs.

But reacting yesterday in a statement issued by some known Ex Militant groups, under the aegis of Anti Pipeline Vandaslization/Oil Theft and Illegal Bunkering Volunteer Group,described the claims of the protesters as baseless, mischievous, misguided and a journey of no practical destination.

The group, after an enlarged meeting of leaders in Delta State condemned in strong terms the recent protest to Government House, Asaba Delta State over pipeline surveillance jobs by some self acclaimed ex militants describing them as purely misguided elements.

The statement issued after the meeting and signed by the National Coordinator, Anti Pipeline Vandalization/Oil Theft and Illegal Bunkering Volunteer Group and Ex Militant leader General E. Pathfinder,AKA (Osama) noted that the alleged hijack of surveillance jobs by Ocean Marine Solutions Limited was baseless, unfounded and dance of fools of misguided elements.

The statement added that the Delta State Government and the Federal Government with the Joint Task Force and other security agencies in the region should totally discountenance and ignore the so called self acclaimed ex militant groups and their sponsors who are already known in there evil plots and blackmail,and their was never a time the Federal Government entered into an agreement with any group(s)of militants in the Niger Delta to safeguard any NNPC pipelines in the creek.

According to him, “To this end,the Ex Militant leader who is the National Coordinator of the group with others has sternly warned those so called self aclaimed ex militants who embarked on the senseless protest to retrace their steps or will face the wrath of the Group in the creek or would be marked as those persons who are part of the pipeline vandalization syndicate that destroy federal government pipelines and illegal bunkering activities in the creek”

“the kangaroo protest was a systematic way of embarking on new methord of pipeline vandalism in collaboration with their sponsors in the Creek stressing that if any pipeline is destroyed in the creek they would have themselves to blame as the Anti Pipeline Vandalization/Oil Theft and Illegal Bunkery Volunteers Group would Join hands with security agencies to fish them out including their sponsors who are behind this senseless protest from their hiding places ”

The Ex Militant Leader maintained that the the existing peace been enjoyed in the creek must be sustained, and we want to use this median to lauded the Chairman/Managing Director of Ocean Marine Solution Limited, Captain Hosa Okunbor who had worked hard tirelessly to promote peace and development in the Niger Delta region through massive employment and productive engagement of youths in the Creek over the years”

“And He Captain Hosa Okunbor has contributed a lot to the existing peace been enjoyed by the federal government today for his pivotal role he played so far in the days of Niger Delta Avengers in the Creek.”

“Therefore at this end We have passed a vote of implicit confidence on Captain Hosa Okunbor based on his patriotic sterling leadership qualities he has exhibited so far wish has remained untainted in terms of promoting grassroots community base pipeline surveillance services in the Creek of Niger Delta wish has carried community leaders and youth groups along in the Creek,even his pipeline surveillance jobs is centred on transparency and fairness without favouritism to individual or tribe with utmost sense of responsibility because of his competence and capability of handling the pipeline surveillance jobs in the Creek.”
