HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF BRASS LGA

Let me on behalf of my family wish the entire good people of Brass Local Government Area a Happy New Year.
It is indeed heartwarming for God to have been merciful and gracious enough to usher us into the year 2017 in soundness of health, peace and cordiality.
You will agree with me that Brass LGA has undoubtedly experienced progress in the year 2016, as we have, since assuming office in April 2016, done our beat to improve the lot of all peoples in the Brass clime.
We came into power when sea pirates had a smooth sail in the Brass waterways but we invested heavily in security, collaborated with the state government and relevant law enforcement agencies to clamp down on them. Today, we all can travel to any part of Brass LGA without hitches.
In spite of the economic recession, we have endeavoured to significantly pay off the seven months salary backlog we inherited and hope to pay off the remaining two months before the end of January.
As a government that is keen on promoting commerce in the area, we quickly built the Restoration Ultramodern Market in Sangana Town and we are still constructing a landing jetty that would enable the market to function well.
It might interest you to know that we embarked on the shore protection project in Twon-Brass and have also illuminated the council headquarters with street lights.
Because we know the difficult nature of our terrain, we embarked on the canal excavation in Liama and Sangana communities, respectively. God willing, both projects will be completed before the end of February.
More so, we are also renovated the Women Development Center in Ewoama and have stockpiled it with several computers and sewing machines for our women to be trained and empowered.
We again constructed a bridge that links Egweama and the Naval Base in the community; and also constructed toilet facilities in all Wards in the LGA.
The Community Secondary School in Odioama and the State High School in Liama which we are renovating will soon be completed for students to go in and learn.
Brass LGA has apparently felt the hand of restoration as we have, against all odds, brought peace to the area. Our numerous projects are apparently speaking for us and we will not rest until Brass is utterly restored, at least for as long as we remain in the saddle.
I want to promise the good people of Brass LGA that I will continue to use my good office as the Chairman of the Council to maintain the existing peace not only in our communities but in our waterways. The Operation Toru Doumo will be inaugurated in a couple of days and they will make our waterways to be safe as ever before.
I want to sincerely thank you for supporting us because we would not have achieved anything without your support and avid followership.
It is my prayer that the year brings us more blessings, joy, unity, peace and progress and it is my hope that you continue to give us your unflinching support in order for us to keep delivering the goods of restoration in Brass LGA.
Thank you and God bless.
Long live Bayelsa State.

Long live Brass Local Government Area.
Hon. Bello Bina (JP)
Chairman, Brass LGA. Bayelsa State.
