Higher institutions established under Dickson became glorified primary schools – APC reacts to endorsement

The attention of the Ebebi for Senate Campaign Organization has been drawn to the endorsement of Hon. Seriake Dickson as the sole candidate for the Bayelsa West Senatorial bye-election by a section of students of Bayelsa West extraction, adding that such level of delusional interpretation of reality speaks volume of the youths being leaders of tomorrow.

The campaign outfit avers that the action of the daydreamers, at the same time, serves as a good measure and yardstick for examining the quality of education in recent times, as it is diametrically opposed to the progressive ideas of students of olden days like Late Isaac Boro, who applied the knowledge of education for national development and integration

It states that the praise singing of Hon. H. S. Dickson to high heavens with regard to performance in the education sector of which they are directly impacted negatively, remains a worrisome trend.

The group reminds the students who were cajoled to part-take in the endorsement that under the reign of Hon. H. S. Dickson, despite state of emergency declared in the education sector, both the primary and secondary schools suffered major setbacks.

To be more factual, the group premised its analysis on the report of a survey conducted by independent researchers which states that: 97% of the schools do not have perimeter fencing; no functional library; no sick bays; no standard ICT labrary; no toilets; no update of educational curriculum; no refresher courses for teachers; no promotion and increment of salaries steps, etc.

At the tertiary level, tuition fees increased exponentially and accounted for many school dropouts; no bursary payment; accreditation of courses became the biggest challenge to schools; higher institutions established in the state became glorified primary schools, such as Bayelsa State polytechnics, Alebiri. The group notes that Inspite of all these obvious shortcomings, students have the effontry to engage in praise-singing Hon. H. S. Dickson for Senate.

Furthermore, the Ebebi for Senate campaign Organization notes that based on this monumental failures in the education sector in relation to their actions, it is not only imperative but also expedient to examine the mental state of the students in question,
as they remain misfit to be leaders of tomorrow or future leaders because their conduct had established a missing link and not in touch with modern reality to be addressed as future leaders.

According to the group, this ugly trend has further created the dire need to xray the negative tendencies the candidate of the PDP holds for society. Moreso, this undesirable patronage clearly spells doom of the Izon Nation, in relation to a reward system that is being exhibited knowingly by Izons. For this reason, no doubt, the Izons are subjected to a laughing stock and the entire world is running aback of this scornful attitude
by students who ought to shape and cause positive changes in society.

However, the only solace, perhaps, according to the group, is the excuse of stomach infrastructure.

As this juncture, the campaign Organization has urged the student body to quickly have a rethink and redirect their conduct and actions in a manner that will be meaningful to mankind and society.
To do so, they are to vote for Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, who is the beacon of hope to students from the senatorial district, now and in the near future.
