Guber Polls: Swali market women, Etegwe community, Ogoni people in Bayelsa, others endorse Sylva/MacIver ticket, pledges support

The leadership and people of Etegwe community in Yenagoa, the market women in Swali market, the Ogoni community in Bayelsa state as well as the Northern Christian Women Association in Bayelsa have all endorsed the candidates of the APC for the November governorship elections in Bayelsa state, H.E Chief Timipre Sylva and Great Joshua Maciver.

The various groups pledged their support for the Sylva/Maciver candidature when they were received by the wives of the APC candidates, H.E, Dr. Mrs. Alayingi Sylva and Mrs. Sarah Maclver, at the APC campaign Secretariat on Friday in Yenagoa.

Speaking on behalf of the marketers, the chairperson of Swali market, Mrs Ebiere Ebiotu, noted that the present administration of Governor Diri has abandoned the market people. She explained how the current administration has abandoned the market women, unlike Sylva’s previous administration were  appointments was given to them.

The chairman of Ogoni community in Bayelsa state, Mr Save Ledum Nubani, the women leader, Mrs. Gift George, and other excos who were also received by H.E, Mrs. Alaingi Sylava, in the APC campaign office, expressed their support for HE Chief Timipre Sylva’s candidature. 

Mr. Save Nubani, unbehalf of the Ogoni community, said in the history of Bayelsa state politics, the Ogoni Community has never shown interest in any political party or candidate, but that, they have so much interest in the Sylva/ Maclver ticket, reason being that Sylva is their son and friend who is tested and trusted, his previous administration can never be compared to any in the history of Bayelsa state, that the Ogoni Community who are more than three thousand persons with their PVCs intact will vote for the APC in the November polls.

Also, the CDC chairman of Etegwe community, his deputy, excos and others were also received at the APC campaign office. The community leadership used the medium to endorse the Sylva/Maciver ticket.

 The Okutukutu CDC chairman categorically noted that no Etegwe son or daughter has a meaningful government employement, no good road, no street lights and that Etegwe community is an abandoned community by the Government in Epie kingdom. He noted that the only good road in Etegwe was constructed by H.E Chief Timipre Sylva, during his previous administration.

He said though Etegwe community has been a PDP strong hold in the past, the people have reosolve this time to use their PVCs  for the APC candidate because they believe that H.E Sylva will change the narrative in Etegwe community as he has done before.

Similarly, the Nothern Christian Women Association in Yenagoa, led by the chairperson, Mrs Anna Elisha, and her excos was also at the campaign office to show their solidarity for the Sylva/Maclver ticket.

The group equally promised to use their PVCs to vote for Chief Timipre Sylva and massively mobilize for the APC because of his track records. According to her, the PDP has totally killed the state as there is no light, no water and no human capital development.

While responding to the various groups during their separate visits, wife of the APC candidate, Dr. Mrs Alayingi Sylva,  thanked them for coming to show their support and promised that the APC will not disappoint their trust.

She equally charge the various groups to ensure that their households, neighbors, coworkers, church members, friends, relations and others are convinced to vote for the APC using their PVCs come November eleven.

Those with H.E, Dr. Mrs. Alayingi Sylva include the DG Women Campaign Council, Chief Donli Julie Okay (OON), wife of the APC deputy governorship candidate, Mrs. Sarah Maciver, the state women leader of the APC, Mrs. Ebiere Akpobasa, her Deputy, Mrs Caroline Jack, LGA women leaders, Senatorial women leaders, Mrs Mercy Pastor Ruben, the Youth wing and other dignitaries.
