The Nationalist Movement, a socio-political and pressure group in Nigeria has sent a message of appreciation to the Northern Youths Forum, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora for having faith in former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to lead the country again.


National Co-ordinator of the Nationalists Movement, Engineer Robinson Abidde made the appreciation in statement in Abuja, the Nigerian capital on Monday 9th May, 2022 following the purchase of nomination and interest form for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2023 Presidential Elections under the All Progressive Congress (APC).


Engineer Abidde equally thanked all those who saw the need to prevail on the former President to seek re-election and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for heeding the clarion call to service.


The statement noted that the movement sees GEJ as a Pacifier with the magic wand to heal the nation.
According to the group, the former President has garnered the requisite experience needed to redirect the ship of state.
It noted that the soaring profile of the Bayelsa politician and his peaceful mien remains a unique selling point for GEJ.


The Nationalists Movement had recently called on the two leading political parties, the APC and the PDP to adopt the former President as their consensus candidate noting that he remains the candidate to beat come 2023.

The socio-political group thanked President Mohammed Buhari and other leaders of the APC for accepting Jonathan into its fold assuring that he has what it takes to fly the flag of the party high into the political firmament.


The statement further stated that the Nationalists Movement will continue to galvanise Nigerians to support Jonathan to build bridges across the regional, ethnic and political divides.


It added that members of the group are prepared to work for the success of President Jonathan under any political platform as it considers party as a vehicle to achieve a political goal but maintained that the occupant of the vehicle is more important than the vehicle, hence its resolve to work for the APC as it still urge the party to allow GEJ become is standard bearer come 2023.
