Founder of the Mozimo Beke Foundation, Catherine Mozimo has raised an alarm over allege plan by some persons to embark on a smear campaign against the advocacy work of her foundation and smear her personality over a true story series published on her social media page.
Catherine Mozimo, who identified one Stella Tama Obriki and Ebedau Ebimien as those behind the smear campaign, said the threats of blackmail and attack, have left her distrust and mentally disoriented, saying the planned attack is unwarranted, provocative and criminal.
She stated that the allege smear campaign started over a series published by her on a true life story on relocation from Lagos to Bayelsa using unidentified characters and places for the real life story on the Novel, “It started some years ago after relocating to Bayelsa State. This story has no names and I carried on as it will be used for a novel in the nearest future. This story was born out of my passion to write and also considering the numerous difficulties I had suffered in the process of life”.
“On the 25th of SEPTEMBER I woke up to a comment from one Stella Tama Obriki who saw this story as a means of making herself more popular and insisted that I give her the names of people related to the story, but I refused. She went further in her smear campaign threat to screen shot my profile picture and started calling me derogatory names.”
She went further by labelling me a thief and recruited one Ebedau Ebimien in carrying out her campaign of wickedness against my person just because she read my relocation story. She has promised to destroy my name, foundation and personality.
Catherine Mozimo said she is filing a case of allege cyber stalking against her and her foundation by the two identified persons at the State Police command and ready to seek legal redress a court of law,” I want to draw the attention of the general public to the ongoing smear campaign, it is wicked and mischievous plan by the identified person to bring the disrepute to the credible and commendable works of my foundation to the people of the state and the region.”
“I have given them up to 24 hours for them to prove that I am a thief and all other negative statements used on my name or do a public apology on their social media pages and two National Dailies or face a law suit”.
