EGYPT CONFIRMS DRONE ATTACK CAUSED FIRE AT DAMIETTA PORT, NOT ACCIDENT

Egypt says a drone attack caused the fire that engulfed two gas vessels at the Mediterranean port of Damietta, confirming the incident was an attack rather than an accident.

The Egyptian Cabinet made the announcement after the blaze broke out at the port.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The incident occurred near the Suez Canal, a key shipping route and vital transit corridor for oil and gas to global markets.
