The Leader of Izon Tukpa Movement and the Governorship aspirant of the forthcoming election under the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State Great Joshua MacIver has urged Christians to consider sacrifice for humanity as the main purpose of Easter.
In an Easter message he Personally signed and copy of which was sent to NAIJALIVETV.COM, the governorship hopeful urged Christians to reflect on the sacrifices of Jesus Christ.
According to Hon. MacIver who is popularly called the Tukpa of Izon-Ibe (meaning Light of Ijaw Nation), “sacrifice Jesus made was for humanity to receive salvation”.
He further went on to say that political leaders in Nigeria and mostly Bayelsans should endeavor to use their privileged Political positions to sacrifice for the betterment of the society at everything point.
He said, “I want to be the governor of Bayelsa State not as a privilege but has a responsibility for the betterment of humanity and Progressive”
He further said that “sacrifice has been my watch word and becoming a governor won’t change who i am because a leopard cannot change its spot”
“I urge us to reflect during this season on the main reason why Christ came and died. Christ The Risen King laid a very great foundation for sacrifice”.
“Therefore, it is imperative for us to consider sacrifice to our neighbours, society, and humanity in general as a key to living a happy and fulfilled life”. “I wish everyone a happy easter celebration”
